Why on earth would we want a holiday from the garden, just as it is abundant and at its best. And what’s more, wouldn’t we rather be here than anywhere else?

The best way around this dilemma is to book holidays from December to February. That makes much more sense.

But sometimes we have to go away. As you read this, I have had to go to France for a coastal wedding weekend.1

But I still have seedlings in trays maturing to root through so I can plant them out. This is critical time. Warm drying days, and still plenty of flipping slugs about this year to feast on them.

It is a universal truth that in order to go on holiday to rest, you have to work 3x as hard in the week running up to it.2

I have become well versed in executing ‘Operation Exit’. In fact, I probably get on top of things so effectively that I ought to go away every weekend. I mean, I even scheduled this post.
