I took good advantage of wintering this year.
The gardens got a refresh on paper. I’ve redesigned, or perhaps renovated, the walled garden bed layout. (1)
It took months. Literally months for me to finalise it.
I just couldn’t make it quite work. Of course, eventually, when I sat down to commit it to paper, everything came together, I found the missing piece and I reckon I’ve got it now. (2)
I had to get the new arrangement finalised in time for all the different planning sessions I have been running. I use these gardens to demonstrate how to plan your growing. Unfortunately what will ultimately look better in the garden, is much more complex on paper now. I feel exactly like those that are coming up against this planning lark for the first time!
Now I’ve written all my sowing schedules and even started sowing (more on that another time. Be careful not to sow too much too soon. We are still unlocking!). The majority of my annual sowing is done at the end of March or early April.
I always want to know what everyone is growing so I am sharing mine.
Here are all the flowers I will be growing to cut;
