Preparing beds and a new idea

It’s been a hardcore edging, clearing and composting week. More on the compost heap on Tuesday but for now, I’m basking in the glory of preparing beds for planting and actually planting out today.

After lifting the dahlias in these 3 beds I needed to re-edge and weed the beds ready for planting out all the annuals and perennials I’ve sown this year.

I use the turfs that I lift to make loam for potting or seed sowing compost but I have a huge pile right now and didn’t fancy storing more. I had an idea of how I could better make use of it where I had another problem.
